The DMC was all about supporting young people with a musical talent to take the next steps towards a professional career in music. Workshops explained levels of skill in digital music production and how to market your music online, how to promote gigs and even how to start your own record label. National organisation MusicPlus supported the DMC and filmed some of the workshops – these video are now available online through The Stove.
The concept of DMC was to strike a balance between practical skills and aspirational thinking . Over the two days each session was attended by between 25 and 40 participants with over 70% of the participants under the age of 25.
