Nithraid this year will take place on Saturday 9th September 2017.

Nithraid is a community-led River Festival beside and on Dumfries’ River Nith. Starting off with a sailing race up river on the highest tide of the year, the race finish line is below the caul in the centre of Dumfries, where the Salty Coo awaits the arrival of the boats from the centre of the river Nith.
Scandinavia and all things Viking are one of the themes of the Nithraid this year; there will be a Viking encampment beside the river for the event, alongside our Nithraid village of family friendly activities, food, and music.
