Help Musicians Scotland Launch at The Stove

On Thursday 1st February, Dumfries Music Conference and Help Musicans UK joined forces to host an event at The Stove Network with a special evening of local acts to celebrate the launch of Help Musicians Scotland. The event was part of a series of gigs titled ‘Rooted in Scotland’, which were all happening at the same time in Perth, Glasgow, Dundee, Edinburgh and Dumfries as part of the charity’s Scottish launch.Help Musicians UK (HMUK) is a leading independent music charity, providing help, support and opportunities to empower musicians and those working in the industry at all stages of their lives. The charity works to support those who work in the music industry through health and welfare services, campaigning, creative programmes and targeted investment initiatives. It exists to advocate, educate and provide information around issues which affect musicians and the industry.The evening consisted of performances from four local acts; Frozen Shores, Tiderays, The Lutras and North Atlas. All the money raised at the event will be reinvested in Scotland, ensuring Help Musicians Scotland can provide bespoke programmes of support, advice and campaigns including health and welfare and career support grants.
