Lavender Menace: Writing the Self
August 13 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Free writing workshop hosted by Lavender Menace, with support from blueprint100 and D&G LGBT+.
Workshop exploring the ways that identity can come into being and be validated through the written word. We’ll discuss together several pieces both spoken and written, and then poet Martin O’Neill will lead us in putting words to our own stories –a moment you felt truly seen, the process of changing and becoming, an imagined interaction that would feel nourishing. You can keep your writing private, or if you’re feeling adventurous, submit it to an upcoming zine project with Lavender Menace.
Feel free to bring along a piece of writing that made an impact on your understanding of your sense of self, or something you have written that feels relevant.
The workshop will be held in Room 2 on the first floor of The Stove. Access through the front door, or if this is closed the rear door can be found through the alleyway adjacent to The Stove, on the right. The building is wheelchair accessible. If you have other access needs please contact Lavender Menace via the Facebook page here
