Forgotten Doors at the Bakers Oven
November 17 @ 10:00 am - November 18 @ 5:00 pm
Following on from last months successful installation and Poet’s Tour, the Forgotten Doors will be reappearing in the town centre in the Bakers Oven.
Evening Reception: Thursday 16th November 5-8.30pm
Open daily during Friday 17th and Saturday 18th.
The ‘Forgotten Doors’ project marries specially commissioned poems to stylised doors representing Dumfries buildings that no longer exist or whose function has changed. These doors contain reminiscences, factual material and poems from poets connected to or living in or near Dumfries. The exhibition is the brainchild of Hugh Bryden and Hugh McMillan, who in May this year won the prestigious Calum MacDonald Prize for poetry for an unparalleled second time. They are joined as curators by Stuart A Paterson.
